Solaris Observability Needs

Please add to this list any perceived Solaris observability requirements

[edit] Basic ideas or comments by Solaris admins

  • Simple Capacity/Utilization tools to be used inside zones, to simplify migration from non-zoned to zoned. e.g. iostat, vmstat etc.. that just reflects the zone's utilization. Might even need to be used as wrapper replacements for existing monitoring tools.
  • Better tools (compatibility and old-methodology) aside tools for Zone observability
  • Observability inside VMware that takes into account hypervisor cpu sub-allocation
  • ZFS memory allocation observability
